Melissa has been with Central Coast Foot Clinics since 2003. Before assuming the role of Office Administrator in September 2012, Melissa worked in the back office as a medical assistant. Her experience as a medical assistant provides comprehensive understanding of the needs of the office and our patients. Melissa has enjoyed learning new tasks and taking on new responsibilities as the Office Administrator. She really enjoys the connections she has made with our long-standing patients over the years.
Melissa graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2009. She also earned an Associates degree in Science from Cuesta College in 2006. She has over 10 years of experience working in the medical field. Melissa is passionate about living a healthy lifestyle.
In her free time, Melissa enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two Labrador Retrievers. She also enjoys yoga, aerial silks, live music, photography, and traveling.
Nancy works as a full time receptionist in both our Arroyo Grande and San Luis Obispo offices.
Born in Mexico, Nancy relocated with her family to California at age 8. She graduated from Arroyo Grande High School, and continued her education at Santa Barbara Business College where she studied Business Administration.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter and son, traveling to Santa Cruz to visit family, and shopping with her sister.
Shannon works as a part time receptionist in both our San Luis Obispo and Arroyo Grande offices.
Shannon earned a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Chapman University, as well as an Associate's degree in art from San Diego Mesa College.
Shannon loves spending time with her husband and one year old daughter. Shannon also enjoys staying active and being outdoors. She enjoys hiking, camping, and days at the beach with her family and friends.
Trina moved to the Central Coast from the Los Angeles area in 1995 and graduated from Arroyo Grande High School in 2001. She continued her education at Cuesta and Allan Hancock Colleges as well as receiving a certification in Office Administration and Office programs.
Trina joined our office April 2014 as a Receptionist in both the San Luis Obispo and Arroyo Grande offices. With over 8 years of experience in insurance authorizations and medical front and back office, Trina is eager to continue to learn and experience new things and grow within our practice.
In Trina’s free time she enjoys spending time with her family, including her two daughters Aryana and Tiana. She likes going to concerts, traveling, shopping, and trying new things.
Mary was born and raised here on the Central Coast. In high school she was really interested in the medical field. After graduating, she decided to attend school for medical assisting to provide a better future for herself and her son.
As a student at Santa Barbara Business College, Mary was placed at Central Coast Foot Clinics to complete her extern hours. In November 2012 she transitioned into fulltime employment as one of Dr. Scott Adams’ medical assistants. She has learned so much already and continues to learn and grow with our practice daily. Mary enjoys helping people with their needs and plans to return to school to further her career in the medical field.
In her free time she enjoys spending time with her son, hiking, shopping, and seeing new places.
Vanessa has been working full-time as a medical assistant for Central Coast Foot Clinics since February 2014. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Dr. Adams, Dr. Ecklund, and the rest of the team. Vanessa's favorite part of the job is learning something new everyday and having the opportunity to help people.
Although Vannessa was born in Santa Maria, she spent the first six years of her life in Mexico and spoke Spanish as her first language. She has lived on the Central Coast ever since then, graduating from Santa Maria High School in 2010. Vanessa is now in her first year at Allan Hancock College and hopes to transfer to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo to earn a degree in Animal Science.
Vanessa enjoys spending time with her family and going horseback riding whenever she gets the chance. She loves being outdoors and traveling as much as possible.
Jessica was born and raised on the Central Coast of California. After graduating from Morro Bay High School in 2010, she earned her Medical Assistant Certificate through Central California School of Continuing Education in San Luis Obispo in 2012.
Joining our team in 2014, Jessica works primarily with Dr. Ecklund as his part-time medical assistant. She is thrilled for the opportunity to work with our doctors and the entire Central Coast Foot Clinics team. She enjoys helping others and learning new things every day.
In her free time, Jessica loves spending time with her husband and two daughters. They enjoy going shopping, to new places, and spending time at the beach.
Dora works as a medical scribe for Dr. Scott Adams. She recently moved back to the Central Coast after graduating from UC Irvine with a degree in Literary Journalism. Dora plans on enrolling in a graduate program to become a Physicians Assistant or to study Medical Writing.
She was thrilled for the opportunity to work as a scribe, a position that combines her education in writing with her passion for the medical field. Dora’s favorite part of the job is the ability to gain clinical experience and working side-by-side with Dr. Adams on a daily basis. She has also loved becoming a part of the Central Coast Foot Clinics family.
In her free time, Dora enjoys trying new things with friends and staying as active as possible.
Travis Freitas is a Board Certified Pedorthist (C. Ped.) and has been practicing on the Central Coast since November of 2000. A pedorthist is a specialist that fills foot and ankle related prescriptions after your physician has determined what type of device you need to have constructed. Travis will conduct an evaluation, cast your foot/ankle, and construct your appliance based on your physician’s prescription. The industry of “Pedorthics” (peh-DOR-thix) is the design, manufacture, modification, and fit of footwear to alleviate problems caused by disease, overuse, congenital condition, or injury.
Travis Freitas received his Pedorthic certification from The Medical College of Wisconsin, in Milwaukee. At that time, he became the youngest certified pedorthist in the nation. Travis started his Pedorthic career by establishing the Pedorthic Department of a retail shoe store in Pismo Beach. Travis has five years of retail footwear experience and is an expert shoe fitter. He is very familiar with shoe manufacturers, their construction techniques, and he can select the proper shoe size/style based on your specific needs.
In July of 2004, Travis decided to join a podiatry practice to provide Pedorthic care through a physician’s office. Travis established his own Pedorthic business in May of 2012. Travis networks with multiple podiatry offices along the Central Coast to provide full service Pedorthic care at your podiatrist’s office.
Travis’ specialties include accommodative (softer style) orthotics, diabetic footwear for ulcer prevention/healing, foot/ankle bracing, and all types of shoe modifications including sole lifts.
Travis married his wife Tanya in 2007 and they live in the Five Cities area. They have two children, Denver who was born in August of 2009 and Sierra who was born in December 2011. Travis and his wife enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, snow skiing, and all water sports.
Travis is the most experienced Pedorthist along the Central Coast. Travis has a genuine love for his profession and it makes all the difference in the Pedorthic care he provides.
